Saffron Found To Improve Sleep Quality, But There’s A Catch

Popular spices, but expensive called saffron may be able to improve the quality of sleep in adults who often experience unpleasant nights, according to a new study. This study originated from the same team that previously connected turmeric with antidepressant effects, at least in people who had depression to moderate and who also took recipe antidepressant drugs.

Saffron is a popular seasoning originating from the flower best known as ‘Saffron Crocus.’ The spices resemble a dark red thread; It was picked from crocus flowers, which means that it is not like other spices, this is difficult to gather in large quantities. As a result, true turmeric is the most expensive spices in the world.

Apart from the costs, these spices remain popular as supplements other than materials, with some people who claim to experience various benefits of this compound. One of these benefits, previous research has been found, may be a reduction in symptoms of depression for people who experience mild or moderate depression.

A recent study from the University of Murdoch has also found that turmeric can improve the quality of sleep in people who are not experiencing depression and are physically healthy, but reports that experience bad sleep quality at night. The participants in this study were described as drug free for at least four weeks before the study.

The researchers found that turmeric improved sleep quality, but there was a catch – this study involved turmeric extract called “affron” which was given a dose at 14mg twice a day. The beneficial effects on sleep quality are reported during the first week of study, although additional research with larger groups of people is needed.Because this research involves standard turmeric extract, some people may struggle to get the same benefits as eating raw turmeric supplements, dry, or supplements that are sold freely.
